He's not body-builded nor sexy, nor even just fashionable and yet he won the previous season of "La Nouvelle Star" (French version  of  "Américan Idol").  The first time the  jury saw him they copmpared him to a turtle, and now it's his nickname. His jazzy voice and style conquered all the fans.

All the songs on the playlist can be found on his Fisrt album (let me advice you Kiss the bride). And the main part of the links are performed on "La Nouvelle Star", before he won.  But I  put a link for you to see the day he was casted, thus you'll understand why the jury called him a turtle when they saw it the first time (what's that???)

Another one from the "french new Scene". I just wanted to present you one song "The Dinner". His girlfriend has a dinner with her friends, he doesn't want to go to it and prefers staying at home, watching at TV with his girlfriend. So he finds all the good and overall bad reasons to avoid this dinner (saying he's ill, he wants to see this film...).
The song goes like "we don't mind, let's stay, let's hide under the shits, we'll call for pizzas, just you the tv and me"

Fresh unexpected new singer, he became famous by playing in the music hall "Le Roi Soleil" wich deals with Versailles and Louis XIV.He used to play king's brother.

Like most of  the "french new scene" (as they are called - French new artists), he pays more in a "soul acoustic" style. You cand hear african influences too.  He sings for simplicity, freedom and bliss.

I just couldn't leave without introducing you to Mylène Farmer, this great artist begun in the 80's. 
he's as mysterious as there are no official website for her.

Indochine is a dark rock band.They became famous in the 80's with their song "l'Aventurier" (you can listen to it, it sounds really old-fashionned!).   But  they are still famous among young and old people as U2 or The Cure (to whom they are often compared).

Their baroque universe is dark, ambiguous and tortured. It deals with life, death and sex with a lot of poetry.

The name had been choosen by Nicolas Sirkis, the leader and the voice of the group, in reference to Marguerite Duras, a french writer; The period that takes place in "Indochine" in Maguerite Duras' books is Nicolas Sirkis' favourite one.

"L'Aventurier" is the most famous song and deals with Bob Morane, the heroe of a famous comic.

"Pink Water" deals with suicide and is sung with Bryan Molko, from the Placebo, a great rock band from UK!

"Le Grand Secret" (the great Secret) is sung with Melissa Auf Der Maur, a german rock player. It deals with two persons who are in love. They are thinking about leaving everything, running away. They wonder "if you would have to do this, would you take me with you?"

"3éme sexe"(or 3rd Sex in english - it's one of the old songs, don't be surprised by the sound), "Marylin" bisexuality. You can see it on the photo where Nicolas is Kissing another member of his band.

Tokio Hotel is a young german rock band. They are all around 15 y.o. Their public is mainly composed of teenagers.

They are four boys, the singer, Bill, and the guitarist Tom are twins.

It's not my favourite group and I don't have a lot informations about them. But if you like them, i can find more just for you !

First, I would like to apologize for my english!!If you don't understand something, please ask me,  i'll try to correct myself.

Then, among the artists I'm going to introduce to you, some are really talented. For musician, there is no problem for you to see it because you easily can hear it. But for the texts it's different because you can't unederstand them.

Here is THE romantic boy.

Raphaël Haroche is a french singer and musician. His father is russian, his mother is argentinian : Cold outside, hot inside. This exactly defines him.

Behind a bohemian musical style he hides poetic and violent texts.
His lastest album, as he says, is "dedicated to life, wandering and carnal".
When I saw it the first time on a photo, I thought "he's not as much good looking as they say". but then I saw it at Live Aid, and i discovered he's really "Beauty-Full", magnetic and shining. He's got an incredible and unexplainable charm.

"Sur la route" litteraly "On the road" is a duo made with Jean-Louis Aubert.
In the clip "Caravane", you can see his girlfriend, Mélanie (i'm sure you're disppointed).
"Ne partons pas fachés" means "We shouldn't leave each others angry". It deals with two persons who break and  he globally says "yes, life is hard and sad, obviously people die everyday, so this is precisely the reason why we should not get angry togther". That's why the music sounds happy even if the song is sad.
"Dans 150 ans" is the same kind of text,  saying that "in 150 years" no one will remember your first wrinkle, no one will remember how much you are beautiful..."
His texts are really great, don't hesitate to ask me to translate some of them.

Superbus is a French Pop/Rock band composed of a girl and four men.

They are often compared to "No Doubt" (Gwen Stefani's band - US).

Superbus is a latin word for "proud", "insolate", but "splendid", "shining" and "superb" too.
The carismatic leader, Jennifer Ayache, is a 22 y.o. girl. She sings, but she's the author of the song and the type setter too.
Their previous album was inspired by comics. Titles of songs were like "tchi-cum bah!", "pop'n'gum"...

The tacks I've choosed are all extracted from their lastest album "WOW" sounds like pop/rock, with inspiration from the 60's. It's totally diffrent, except they are still as much energetic!

"Butterfly" is a song about a couple, she's breaking up with her boy but feels angry. She's feels like Butterflies in her belly, a metaphor for all the contradictory emotions she feels.
 
"Lola" is their new single. It deals with a love affair between two girls. She's calling a girl, Lola, who looks to be dark. And she's telling her she's asounded by the new unknown feelings she has for her. The song goes like "Hello, Lola, it's me again. I've thought about you so much my sweet Lola. I didn't sleep for you I can't belive it. Hello Lola,like a boy, my heart goes "boum" and I have long hair, It's the first time, form me, that your eyes make me Boum boum boum boum..."
